  1. Well it’s all right, riding around in the breeze
Well it’s all right, if you live the life you please
Well it’s all right, doing the best you can
Well it’s all right, as long as you lend a hand

You can sit around and wait for the phone to ring
Waiting for someone to tell you everything
Sit around and wonder what tomorrow will bring
    Maybe a diamond ring…

  3. The other day my wife was shopping in Hobby Lobby. While she shopped, I took a little trip down memory lane and was looking at all the model cars and airplanes. It had been years since I had looked at one. Sure enough, they had some of the same Revell, Monogram, and AMT 1/24-scale kits just like I used to buy for one or two dollars back in the ’60s. They looked exactly the same as I remembered.

I looked around and “BOOM”, there was my dream car from when I was 16 years old. It was a 1/24-scale model 1968 Shelby GT500 kit. I remember painting mine a lime green color and there was a small record that came in the box. The name of the record was, “The Sounds of the Cobra”. When you played the record it was Caroll Shelby himself taking a GT-500 around the track and winding out the gears to 7,000 rpms and calling out the speeds as he hit 135 mph. I must have played that record until it became warped and wouldn’t play on the record player.

As I stook there, all the good memories flashed back to me as I remember $.35 cent a gallon Sunco 260 with 104 octane and all the $3,000 to $4,000 Hi-Performance Mustangs on the streets back then. Then I looked at the price on the box, HOLY COW! It was $24.99, that realization brought me back to the present and $3.50 a gallon 93 octane gasoline and the $40,000 to $50,000 hi-performance Mustangs.

I still drive my Mustangs and feel like I’m 18 years old again, but when I look into the rear-view mirror, I have to wonder who that old gray-headed SOB is looking back at me.

  4. The photograph of the soldiers used in this piece is of Soviet Red Army soldiers. Look at their helmets, the uniforms and weapons.
